The North American Team Scottish Athletic Championship

Team USA vs. Team Canada

The North American Team Scottish Athletic Championship will be held as part of The Glasgow Highland Games 28th Anniversary celebration June 1st & 2nd, 2013 at Barren River Lake State Resort Park in Lucas, KY.

This event is sanctioned by the North American Scottish Games Athletics and will bring the top Professional Athletes in the United States and Canada to compete against each other similar to the Ryder Cup Professional Golf Europe vs. United States competition.

The United States team will be lead by Kerry Overfelt, Three time North American Scottish Athletics Champion and the current All American Champion and is anticipated to draw spectators from all over The United States and Canada.

Likewise, the Association believes it will be a big boost in bringing the sport into the national spotlight.  In addition, the Kentucky Sports Authority is a key sponsor of this new competition and considers it a big step forward in promotion of new attractive sport events.  News media may obtain press passes by contacting The Glasgow Highland Games office before  May 18th, 2013 at 1-270-651-3141 or emailing ghg@glasgow-ky.com.

The Glasgow Highland Games promise great viewing for the event, wonderful Kentucky hospitality and fun for the whole family.

Harp Competition Notice

The Harp Competition has been a wonderful part of our Games for many years.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jim and Jo Pennington for working tirelessly year after year.  The efforts they put forth to make this a top-notch competition were evident every year.  We would also like to thank the judges and participants for their part in the success of the event.

Unfortunately, we have to cancel the competition.  This was an extremely difficult but necessary decision.  We hope to be able to have Harp Competition in the future.
